Yolanda Apalategui Lugo - Estrella

Yolanda Apalategui Lugo has been a part of MANA since 2014! She began as a member of the first Latina Success Leadership Program Steering Committee, and is currently the Chair of our Advocacy Committee. She began working for then Councilmember Hueso as policy advisor, and worked her way up to Deputy Chief of Staff, for the Office of Senator Ben Hueso.

As the first woman from her family to graduate from college, Yolanda shares how she often found herself seeking career guidance and advice. She then joined MANA because, “MANA gave me the opportunity to support women in similar situations by providing them with the resources they need to become successful Latina leaders.”

The passion and commitment of staff and volunteers inspire Yolanda to continue her work with MANA. She feels the network of professional Latinas has made an impact on her life, by supporting her growth, while inspiring her to give back.

Most people do not know that Yolanda completed her Master’s in Public Administration in just 16 months. This is the record time for a professional working a job that requires her to be on-call 24/7!

Yolanda is a MANA Estrella!
